This comprehensive training program will allow successful participants to safely operate class I, IV, and V counterbalance forklifts.

Course objectives include:

  • Identify all known and potential hazards associated with forklift operation and equipment
  • Comprehension of provincial laws & regulations, CSA & ASME standards
  • Learn the necessary steps to become a qualified person to conduct pre-use inspections, both visual and operational
  • Types of fuel used on forklifts: battery, propane, gas, and diesel
  • Safe practices and principles
  • Load handling and equipment stability

This course includes theory review, a written exam, and a practical evaluation. Participants must achieve 80% on the exam and maintain full control of the equipment at all times. This course does not approve the competency of any operator; this is the sole responsibility of the employer. The course duration is approximately 5-6 hours and includes breaks for coffee and lunch. Equipment to be used for training must be in safe operating condition and all safety devices need to be in good operating condition.

This fall protection course is designed for workers using aerial work platforms and working at lower heights with less risk. Included are fall protection basic terminology, harness fitting, rescue concepts, anchor points, inspection requirements, types of harnesses and lanyards. Review of all legislative requirements for fall protection and much more. This course is designed to run in combination with our Aerial lift courses.

Our fit testing of respirators utilizes 3M testing equipment and standards. Our testing is qualitative fit testing and seal testing of the respirators being used. The testing is approximately 20-40 minutes per person. We also review the care, use, and maintenance of respirators.

Please note that no participant may eat, drink, or smoke 30 min prior to testing.

This course can take anywhere from 1.5 – 4 hours, depending on the number of participants.

  • Prioritize hazards in terms of the level of risk they present to workers
  • Identify practical hazard control methods applicable to your workplace
  • Review and maintain hazard assessments on a regular basis

This course takes approximately 2 hours, depending on the number of participants.

The standard time for a detailed orientation is approximately 1.5 – 2 hours.
